Maryam Aurangzeb harassment incident and social media debate: 'This series will never end'

A few videos have gone viral on social media in Pakistan since last night, in which Federal Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb is being harassed by a group of men and women on London's "Agware Street". People belonging to this group can be heard and seen using abusive language towards Maryam Aurangzeb, shouting at her and calling her abusive names.

In the videos, it can be seen that these people are wearing the party flag of Tehreek-e-Insaaf around their necks and they are making videos of the incident with their mobile phones. There are also megaphones in the hands of one or two persons on which they continue to use political slogans and obscene words.

Maryam Aurangzeb quietly enters a cafe without answering, but the gang follows her there too with their megaphones, cameras and slogans. Even inside the cafe, this group continues its work, but Maryam Aurangzeb continues to smile and drink coke in response, and her reaction is also severely criticized by a woman present there.

It should be remembered that Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb is part of the delegation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who is currently in London to meet and consult with the leader of the Muslim League, Mian Nawaz Sharif. This official delegation arrived in London after attending the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in America.

In another such viral video, she is standing in the same cafe patiently answering the questions of a young girl and explaining to her that 'Protest is your right but the best way is to vote.'

Maryam can also be heard saying, 'You have your right and your country, which we respect. But everything has a method. If someone harasses your own sister or mother like this on the street would you feel good ?

10 minutes ago there were 20 PTI people here with a microphone insulting me, calling me names  and I didn't react  she says.

Maryam also says that 'if you people harass me like this, it does not matter to me, but the patience I show in front of him increases my stature, but this method is not the identity of our country. is bad for.'

After these videos came out, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned it saying that Maryam Aurangzeb's reaction to being harassed by PTI supporters shows her integrity. With his calm and dignified demeanor, he has exposed the ugly faces of harassers and those who promote such behavior.

Maryam Nawaz, VP of Muslim Association Nawaz, says,

"We are glad for Maryam Aurangzeb." Maryam Aurangzeb herself has said on Twitter after these occurrences that "It was miserable to see the harmful impacts of the governmental issues of scorn and division on our family." I remained and addressed every one of their inquiries. It is a pity that he is a survivor of Imran Khan's misleading publicity. We will proceed with our work to counter Imran's poisonous governmental issues and unite individuals.

There is serious areas of strength for a via virtual entertainment on these viral recordings.

Everybody from legislators to normal individuals are denouncing the provocation of Maryam Aurangzeb like this in the roads and bistros of London and they say that this isn't a dissent however a total badgering.

Remember, this is not the first incident when Maryam Aurangzeb or any leader of PML-N has been harassed by political activists abroad.

At the end of April this year, when Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a delegation comprising the leaders of the coalition parties were visiting Saudi Arabia, some people harassed them in the premises of the Prophet's Mosque, abused them and called them 'thieves'. Chanted slogans of 'thief'.

A court in Saudi Arabia sentenced a Pakistani citizen to three years in prison and a fine of 10,000 riyals for the incident that occurred in the Prophet's Mosque.

Senior journalist Mubasharer Zaidi wrote, "Seeing the way Maryam handled the hooligans despite being harassed in London, my respect for her has increased manifold.

" While sharing a video, journalist Maham asked, "Isn't this harassment according to British laws?"

Journalist Talat Hussain said that Maryam bravely faced it. Shame on the harassers. This trend will be irresistible to others. Soon PTI women or Imran himself may face a similar situation. I will still condemn it but remember that what one sows also reaps.

From tolerating rudeness to taking selfies with people within minutes, Maryam Aurangzeb single-handedly tackled 20 people and proves that the Ministry of Information is in capable hands and we need to be in politics, writes Wahid Zia. More women are needed.

Alina Shagri wrote that she was sorry to see such language and harassment of a woman from women's mouths.

In this discussion, where on one side this action of a few people is being condemned, questions are also being raised on the possible response from the Muslim League-N and the point is being raised as to where this series will end.

When Salman Shehbaz's wife Zainab Salman tweeted a picture of one of the women who harassed Maryam Aurangzeb and asked for her address, 'Let Muslim League London make her next Sunday happy', Twitter users also condemned this behavior.

of Journalist and anchor Ajmal Jami said, "This is as wrong as the harassment of Maryam was wrong." He wrote, "Just end it here." He also asked leaders of political parties to condemn this behavior. said.

On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's assistant Attaullah Tarar's tweet was also condemned, in which he canceled the passports and identity cards of Maryam Aurangzeb's harassers and arrested them on arrival in Pakistan. It was talked about.

Most of the users said that this method is not correct.

One user wrote that 'Today you cancel their passports and tomorrow someone else comes into government, they will treat your supporters like this and this cycle will never end.'
